Adding picture albums

There are several ways to add and display albums within the site. The following article will demonstrate the process of creating an album, placing it within a page or linking to it. Also it will explain album management and several additional options the tool can offer.

Creating an album, album management

In order to add a picture album, stick to the following procedure:
"Tool List” >> “Photo Album” >> Select “Add New Album” in the side menu.



In a new window that will open up instantly, fill in the album name and description fields, define album settings. On completion press on “Apply”.

The next window will allow you to upload images to your new album. You may choose the number of images you would like to upload. It is recommended to uncheck the “Save original picture size?” checkbox (unless you are a designer and interested in preserving the original size of your pictures). On completion press on “Apply”.

In order to edit album settings or upload additional images, go to “Tool List” >> “Photo Album” >> “Albums list” >> “Upload Images” or “Edit Album”.

In case you wish to delete an album, go to “Tool List” >> “Photo Album” >> “Albums list” >> “Delete Album”.

Adding an album as a separate page and embedding it into existing pages

In order to add an album as a separate page appearing in the menu, go to “Manage Pages” >> “Add New” >> “Advanced Pages” >> “Add Album” >> “Link to existing album”. Select the album you would like to display under this category or a page with the list of all albums you have created. On completion click “Apply”.





In order to add an album to an existing category, go to “Manage Pages” >> Right-click on the desired category >> “Add Category” >> “Advanced Pages” >> “Add Album”. The following steps are similar to those described in the preceding paragraph. On completion do not forget to click “Apply”.

In case you would like to add an album to an existing content page, go to “Manage Pages” >> Select the relevant menu containing the desired page (Top menu, Side menu, Not in menu) >> Click on “Edit Content” at the top of the page >> In the text editor window, place your mouse cursor in the position you have chosen for your album >> Press on the Gadget  icon located on the toolbar >> “Photo Album” >> Select the desired album >> Click the “Place in Editor” to the right of the selected album >> Define the display settings of the album (frame, colors and display type) >> On completion click “Apply”.
When the album is inserted, it is recommended to tweak its size by clicking on an empty space within the album to select it, then resizing it by dragging one of the white boxes that would appear around it (just as you would do when resizing an image).

Note!
The added images will be displayed along with the contents of the page.
Remember! Adding an album as a gadget enables much more flexible page design options, therefore adding as gadget is recommended.

Linking to an album

Creating a link to an album is essentially the same as you would link to any other page.
In order to add a link that will lead a visitor to an album, the album must be first created by either of the described above, then linking to it using the "Insert/Edit Link" icon within the editor.

Displaying all the albums at one page

There is an option of creating a page that will display all your albums.
In order to add such a page, do the following:
"Manage pages” >> “Add New” >> “Advanced Pages” >> “Add Album” >> Select “Link to an existing album” >> Select “All the albums in one page” >> Click “Apply”

Important note!
While adding albums, you may choose main picture that will represent each album. If you choose to display all the albums on one page, these pictures will stand for each album. In case you have not chosen the main picture for an album, there will be a blank square with the album's name instead.

Album Design

The following is relevant only for albums placed as pages, not gadgets.

In order to change the structure and design of an album, adhere the following procedure:
"Tool List” >> “Photo Album” >> “Design Settings”.



Additional settings affecting the album's outlook:

Frame Color
The color of image frames may be selected in “Site Design” >> “Fonts & Text”.

Scroll Bar
In case you add an album, whose size is bigger than that of the page, it will be displayed in an internal window and may be fully viewed by means of vertical and horizontal scrolling. If you would like to display the album with no scrolling bars, i.e. in its full size, it is possible to follow one of the following paths:

1.Extend the album's size with respect to the page dimensions (a procedure applied to a regular image). Keep in mind that this action may extend the entire page and make look wider than the rest of website's pages. In order to accomplish that, click on an empty space within the album's boundaries to select the album and stretch it by grabbing and dragging the squares appearing in its corners and on its sides.

2.Extend the website itself, hereby creating more space for the album. In order to accomplish this go to “Site Design” >> “Location and Width” >> “Width of the site in the browser”.

Album Design Settings

It is possible to provide the guests with convenient and user friendly buttons by means of which they will be able to browse your pictures. In order to add them, go to “Tool List” >> “Photo Album” >> “Design Settings” >> “Please select a design for the page containing the pictures in the album”. Here, select the righthand option (a centered picture with two arrows). This option is not accessible, if your album has been added as a gadget. In this case the page settings override the album settings.

Adding text to pictures in the album

Having uploaded the pictures to your album, you may wish to add text that will appear near each image. You may add up to 300 characters.
Go to “Tool List” >> “Photo Album” >> “Albums List” >> “Manage Images” to the right of the desired album. Press on the “Edit” button near the images you would like to add a text comment to.

The text accompanying each picture will be colored according to the text color settings you have defined in “Site Design” >> “Fonts & Text”.
